<p><em>Thanks again for creating such an engaging and rewarding Fitness and Nutritional programme for me. I was expecting to be worked hard and I wasn&#8217;t disappointed however I have been astounded with the results we have achieved together. The combination of the right exercise regime with the right nutrition to compliment my efforts has really exceeded expectations. While I was expecting weight loss and reduction in inches, I  was never expecting the bonus improvement in general demeanor and mood. I&#8217;ve been fit in the past however no level of fitness has ever allowed me to enjoy such a relaxed and calm frame of mind before, what a great result.</em></p>
<p><em>Meeting you in the gym on a regular basis throughout this journey has been invaluable for keeping the motivation going, fine tuning my technique on exercises and answering nutritional questions as they have come up.</em></p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Hi. My name is Alison and I am 39. Eight months ago I nervously contacted Joanne and took the first step to changing my diet and lifestyle and I haven’t looked back since.</p>
<p>Each week I have met with Joanne and followed her lead. She has been incredibly encouraging and her knowledge and expertise have been paramount to the success that I have had with both my weight loss and nutrition. She has taught me how to exercise the correct way and has worked with me at my pace. She has also helped me to better understand nutrition and now I have a much healthier relationship with food. Each passing month has brought amazing changes as inches and pounds have been shed. But the broader experience for me has really been about re-learning how to live healthier and with energy and I think that stems from the process you go through when you work with a dedicated trainer such as Joanne.</p>
<p>In these eight months I have spent under the guidance of Joanne I have lost four stone. I am stronger, healthier and fitter. I have so much more energy and I really can’t help wonder why I didn’t start sooner. Best of luck to all those out there who decide to get up and go for it!!</p>

<p>Pamela Spoke at my weight loss seminar on January 14th 2014 – here’s what she had to say about her experience: Three years ago I was 2.5 stone heavier, with no muscle tone and I couldn’t run for 30 seconds on the treadmill, I was really unfit. My diet consisted primarily of white carbohydrates and fat with little or no protein. I had no idea that I was so unhealthy and my body fat percentage was so high.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Well what changed?</p>
<p>I had been unhappy about my ever increasing weight for a number of years. I hated clothes shopping as nothing looked nice on me…. I was struggling. I decided to join the gym, I started doing some work outs but my body shape didn’t change much, if at all. I was de-motivated as I expected that going to the gym was going to be magic. I soon found out, it was not! What saved me really was that I left a very stressful and time consuming job…. With free time for the first time in years I started to come to the gym during the day. I soon realised that I needed a lot of help in achieving my goals as really I had no clue on how to start, let alone reach them. To contact Jo, believe me it took a lot of bravery, as this was out of my comfort zone to ask would she take me on as a client. Luckily for me, she did!! Week one was nerve racking…. I was slowly put through my very limited paces and instructed to keep a food / drink diary detailing everything. Great I thought, now I have a trainer I can eat everything I want and be healthy. WRONG!!! So that night myself and I better half dug into a full bottle of wine each, of course I wrote everything down in the diary and needless to say the following week I was rightly put straight!! I have learnt a huge amount from Jo over the last 3 years and believe me I have a huge amount more to learn as I started from zero knowledge on healthy eating and exercise. I am a vegetarian so that is an added challenge for me to ensure that I take in sufficient protein on a daily basis.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Three years on I can honestly say that I have a huge amount more energy, I am much happier with how I look. My cellulite is gone, I have muscles, I have completed 10km run’s and participated in a duathlon. For the first time in about 6 years I fitted into my favourite dress. It comes down to healthy eating choices and exercise. It is about changing how you eat, it’s not a diet, it’s a lifetime change. I love chocolate , crisps, cake , wine, cheese. I do still occasionally eat them and when I do I enjoy them but I try to keep it to a minimum… What works for me….. 1. Having a training session with Jo each week. This keeps me on track and it ensures that I have at least one good training session a week. This is very important to me. 2. I monitor what I eat, I have good days and really bad days. I can still get de-motivated but most of the time I am really motivated. 3.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Having realistic goals is important. 4. I don’t give up even when the scales or inches do, I put my head down and keep going. What doesn’t work for me…. 1. Wine – when I drink a lot of wine I eat all around me so I have to careful. 2. Not exercising. 3. Not listening to Jo. Believe me if I did everything that she advised me to do I would be a super model now! 4. Thinking that one biscuits won’t do any harm.. but it does!</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>What I am trying to say I suppose is that, it’s not easy, there is no quick fix….. however if you want to be healthy and fit then it is so worth it. Making the decision is the first part of this life changing journey. Thank you for taking the time to hear my story. Pamela</p>

<p>I have a been member of Energie fitness for the past 2 years. My weight and fitness had always been up and down, so I decided 14 weeks ago that if I wanted to get healthier and fitter I would have to put a big effort in.</p>
<p>I heard about Joanne&#8217;s personal training sessions and decided to meet with her. Joanne set out a plan for me and after  7 weeks was down a stone and I am now  fitter and happier than ever. My plan consisted of a lot of cardio to start with, and once I had the weight down I focused on toning up. Joanne also gave me a lot of eating tips, I now have a different outlook on food.  I work shifts so I find it easier to prepare my meals a week in advance, cooking from fresh, freezing  them, using them as I need and they taste great.</p>
<p>I also partake in Joanne&#8217;s  Box &amp; Blitz 6in1 training classes on a Wednesday morning, I find these classes a real challenge but  worth it to see the results at the end.  I set myself a goal  to run the 10k flora mini marathon  and I achieved this well inside my target time and was delighted.</p>
<p>For the weeks to follow and in to the future I will continue with my fitness plan and get better and better  setting more  goals to work towards.</p>
<p>What I have learnt from Joanne is that no matter what your fitness level is or if you have any injuries  / illnesses, you can always work around these and do better if you put the work in.</p>

He approached me nearly a year ago to try out some personal training sessions and has been doing two 30 minutes sessions since then and his own programme once to twice per week. With a combination of cardio, resistance and flexibility training along with healthy eating he has dropped a lot of weight and body fat, toned up and he is standing straighter. He is much fitter and stronger now. He has been determined and he has lost a substantial amount of body fat, for this reason he has been awarded this month&#8217;s client of the month.</p>
<p>Sean is a pleasure to work with and always try&#8217;s his hardest. Well done Sean great work, I&#8217;ll look forward to seeing more great work from you in the future.</p>

Through a combination of cardio exercises and weights I have lost weight, feel healthier and more energetic, and am eating better. Perhaps the best part has been understanding the gym better, learning which machines work which parts of my body, which exercises should be used in combination with each other and even knowing which days to avoid the gym altogether and take a rest. I look forward to working out &#8211; which I never did before – and as I travel a lot for work, I take my exercises on the road with me. Joanne has been a brilliant trainer, patient but demanding, and it&#8217;s that combination which have made me see real results.&#8221;</p>

<p>I met Joanne in 2009 in the gym and since then I have been training twice a week with her to improve my skills and fitness levels. I am now 57 years of age and I still compete in various competitions and run the mini marathon every year. The first few months of training was hard but my determination along with support and reassurance from Joanne saw the results I was looking for. With a combination of weights, cardio and boxing pad work I am now more confident, stronger and fitter all over, this showed when winning 3 gold medals in The World Title November 2010. I would encourage people to call her or drop into Energie Fitness Rathfarnham for training either as a one to one or take part in one of her classes. As for me, I am looking forward to continuing my training and competing in the next competition!</p>

<p>I had been going to the gym (irregularly) for a while with zero results in both fitness levels and weight loss. In retrospect I realise that I had no notion of how to get fit or eat healthily. I had seen Joanne deal with clients in the gym and was really impressed at her professionalism and expertise. One day I made the decision to book some training sessions &#8211; I clearly needed help. It continues to be one of the best decisions that I have ever made. Now nearly 18 months later I am 1 and half stone lighter (nearly), I have completed a 10km run for charity, I now have 3 different running routes (4km, 6 km and 8km) which I run regularly and I am considering cycling from Malin to Misen head next year. I am a completely different person , strong, fit and healthy with lots more energy than I used to have. None of this would have happened without the help and encouragement of Joanne. (thanks Jo). I cannot recommend her enough.</p>

<p>I started my journey to fitness two years ago. My aim was to lose weight and become fit. I had tried every diet known to man in an effort to shed a few pounds and would lose weight in the short term but would ultimately gain the weight back with a few extra pounds on top.</p>
<p>I met Joanne at a pilates class and decided to lose weight with Joanne as my trainer. I worked hard with her twice a week doing a variety of training programmes that were tailored to my needs containing strength training, plyometrics, pilates and much needed cardio to name a few. On top of the programs I received excellent nutritional help to balance my new fitter style. I have dropped over two stone, I am down to a size 10 and what&#8217;s more the weight is staying off. I signed up to the rathfarnham 5k run and completed it in under 30 minutes. My overall attitude to exercise has changed for the better. I am a happier and healthier person and enjoy the more fit me. Thank you Joanne for your support and encouragement over the last two years.</p>
