
Smoked Mackerel Pate
This is a delicious dip to have on crudites or to have with some crackers, it’s also great to serve with some healthy party food
Smoked Mackerel Paté (serves 2-4) or you can use Salmon Fillets if you prefer
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Ingredients:
- 2 pre-cooked & skinned smoked mackerel fillets (or 2 pre-cooked salmon fillets)
- 4 spring onions
- Juice of 1/2 lemon (plus zest, optional)
- 2 – 3 tbsp natural yogurt
- 2 – 3 tsp fresh horseradish root (or use creamed horseradish)
- Finely ground pepper to taste
- Watercress or chives to garnish
Directions:
- Finely grate horseradish root
- Place all ingredients into a blender and pulse to mix. Avoid over blending
- Add more horseradish to achieve a hotter taste
- Add more yogurt or use Greek yogurt to make it creamier
- For dairy free version use soya yogurt
